Goods still not charged to credit card and want to B/T then close?

Howdy folks. Bit of an odd situation here, Purchased some KLM flights 05/06, received confirmation and e-tickets, when I checked my CC they don't seem to have charged me? I rang CC provider and they said there is nothing pending and charges from that date should really be on?
I'm going to be balance transferring whats on the card, and wish to close the card - 0% is up soon and all they'd offer is 13.8%APR. Really not sure what to do, can't transfer an amount not billed to CC, but don't really want to leave account open sitting waiting for charge. Any advice?
PS- I know they have 6 months to debit,

What should I do?
RIP Floyd - 19/04/09. I know i'll see you again my best friend forever.

Dont think you have a lot of choice really if you are wanting to transfer now.

Just transfer the balance now and wait for the charge. Transfer it then.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.
  • poo, that means keeping account open then and probably paying interest charges when it goes on.

Who are the two card providers involved? And how much is the transaction total for the flights? And why would you pay interest?...you get up to 56 days interest free.

If you choose to keep the card open and you're worried about interest, setup a direct debit to repay the balance in full just incase the charge does appear.

If you're saying the charge was from 05/06 then it's 3/4 years old? The odds on that appearing this long after seem fairly slim to me. Or do you mean May/June?

You could keep the old card open with a nil balance, reduce the credit limit to the amount of the flights you think might appear. That's the best thing you can do in terms of making sure that you don't have a large amount of available credit that affects your credit rating. If you're talking a few hundred pounds for flights then that might be the way to go.
