Are all ethernet cables the same ?

I 'm moving my laptop to further away from my socket,but i want to stay wired-so i'm going to buy a longer ethernet cable i've got a dynamode router is there a standard size at each end

Please don't buy it from one of the large multiple chains which want about £20 for something you can quite easily get for 20% or less of that amount!0

Make sure you buy a 'straight' cable, not a crossover type.Try saying "I have under-a-pound in my wallet" and listen to people react!0
