Children's tax credit. Extra payment?

I normally get just the basic amount for our DD.

In April & May I had £42.11 per month.

In June I've had £42.11 and then one day later £40.80.

I've completed our review and our circumstances haven't changed for years i.e. we are both still working (OH 40 hours and me 20 hours) earning above the average wage.

It's the "tying up" of your payments. After annual review, it is sometimes revealed that the claimants didn't receive all the money they were entitled to, and any owing is sent. It happens to a lot of people, but if you are concerned, call the helpline on 0845 300 390 to enquire.

it'll be detailed on your payment schedule on your award notice too. As pp said , it's when they've finalised your claim and sometimes they owe you a bit extra. I had exactly the same this time.

I haven't been sent a renewal letter payment schedule yet. I just completed the renewal form and sent it off last week.

I renewed over the phone the week before last, and got an extra payment last week. I haven't had the renewal paperwork yet, but I'm assuming it's something to do with being underpaid at some point!
Here I go again on my own....

Check your award notice from last year - if you haven't renewed yet it may be a balancing payment from then. Also June has 5 Tuesdays in it if you get paid on a Tuesday and are working out monthly amounts.
Mama read so much about the dangers of drinking alcohol and eating chocolate that she immediately gave up reading.

I haven't got last year's paperwork. I read it and bin it. Awaiting notice of my renewal.

I have checked last years bank statements and I had 12 payments not 13 so it's obviously not a 4 weekly payment that I get.

If my statement doesn't arrive in the next few days I might ring to clarify.

Seems strange as we only get the basic amount because we have a combined income in excess of £45k from working.

I get an extra payment every year just after renewing and kinda now look forward to it as you never quite know how much youll get - ive had any thing from 20 to 80 pounds - its just a round up payment sort of thing.
Aint got a signature - as I cant think of anything world wisely to say.

we had 2 extra payments totalling £80 which was a surprise as we earned more than they were basing payments on (despite being told of increase -twice) - yet our 4 weekly payment has gone down by about £15. No statement or letter received yet to explain though. Still I'm sure they know what they are doing!
