Help, please with installing graphics card

Options
Hi all,

Have tried to install a new pci grapics card for my pc with onboard graphics. Have followed the instructions sent by PNY as far as I can. However I have disabled the onboard graphics in device manager, installed the card. Plugged in the monitor into the new card and just get a blank screen. The only way to get anything on the monitor is to plug into the socket on the motherboard again. Have checked in device manager and windows has disabled the onboard (red cross through it) and it has found the new card.

Anyone with any ideas??

many thanks billy

Have you got to enable PCI graphics in the BIOS or disable Onboard Graphics in BIOS.

    I know I had to :)

You need to do more than disable it in the device mgr.

Go into BIOS (keep pressing del repeatably on bootup) and find onboard graphics - disable it, save changes and exit.

    Try that.
  • Thanks, I thought the tutorial on the PNY site was a bit too easy. Will try the bios settings.
