Competition wins - etiquette with friends?

My take on it is I spend literally hours putting the time in to entering, so if any of my friends want to win anything, there's nothing to stop them from entering for themselves.
My friends have benefitted from my wins at times & have been overjoyed - however, they don't EXPECT to benefit.
I think that if friends are real friends they are genuinely chuffed for you when you win something, and don't get disgruntled if they don't benefit.
Enjoy your wins and don't feel guilty! xThe Rock Chick, she say 'courtesy costs nowt' - spread the word!0 -
I tell the world about my wins! I used to take a bit of ribbing from work colleagues, but when I won a VIP trip to the WRC in Finland as a guest of Ford in 2007 and could,nt go and I gave it to a work colleague that soon stopped!!!!
Also when I first started comping my OH thought it was an excuse to play on my computer, however as more & more prizes turned up, I am now not allowed to go to bed until I have done the days comps:DBest wins 2010 - Ipod touch, Ipad, W/end in Amsterdam, 32" TV & Bluray, V Fest tix X 4, Global Gathering Tix, £100 M&S vouchers

I tell anyone who'll listen to me that I'm a comper, as I want them to comp too & feel the joy
But some people do get jealous, or they think I'm a nut
I put at least 2 hours daily into comping, & I do my best to encourage other people to do the same. However, a lot of people will enter about 10 comps a day for a fortnight, then when you ask how they're doing they say they've given up as they never win anything

My friends and family are thrilled that I'm comping - I've passed on tickets and quite a few other prizes to them. Even small things are really appreciated - my Mum loved a Cewe photobook I won when I first started (I had it made with lots of pix of my DS), my sister has taken a friend to a home show at Tatton Park, I took a friend down to Chelsea Flower Show - it's great!
Enjoy your holidays - you put the hours and effort in to earn them - you deserve them!0
