Holiday brochures tend to be a good starting point?

I'm not really sure what you want people to tell you?
    Gone ... or have I?

The first thing you and your girls need to do is narrow down where you want to holiday. A budget of £2,000 is a good size and your options are numerous Spain, Canary Islands, Portugal, Greece, Turkey, Tunisia, Egypt, Cuba, Mexico, Cyprus, just to name some places off the top of my head. I agree with the post above, look through some holiday brochures. Also look online, there is so much information out there. From other posters on the forum thomson/thomascook brouchures for summer 2010 should be out on Thursday.
    Look at

    http://www.thomascook.com/
    www.expedia.co.uk

There are tons more sites out there, but these are a start, you can get inspired by these.
Figure out what you all want from a holiday, and what you want in your hotel. Do you want luxury, middle of the road or bottom of the range? Do you want spa services, diving, golf etc.. Do you want to be on the beach, or just a pool? Do you want to be near attractions or a town?

Surf the web, do your research and see what you guys want to do.
Once you have decided location and type of hotel/holiday etc...Then you can start searching for the best price.

Trip Advisor is a fantastic site for reading up on hotel reviews. Do read a number of posts to get the gist of a place, people will sometimes give a hotel a bad rating based on things like bugs/weather etc...

Good luck with it all, and have fun researching your holiday!!

    Hi Janey

I was in a similar situation this year. I had saved aroud £1500 for a holiday for myself and my 14 y old daughter. We just got home from our holiday on Friday. I paid £720 for a week sc in Marmaris, Long Beach apartments, basic but near the beach and shops but far enough away from Bar Street to be quiet at night. There were free child places available so we took one of my daughters friends. We had great fun and still had almost £200 left when we came home. I guess how much you spend depends on what you plan on doing, obviously with two young teens I wasn't out partying.

Hope this gives you some idea of how far your money can go, although obviously I can't say what the prices will be like next summer.

if i were you i would go somewhere within a two hour flight such as spain, majorca, ibiza.

i would go all inclusive in a hotel close to the resort centre and a beach and book with thomson or thomas cook.

thomas cook or thomson will collect you from the airport and take you to your hotel, you can then hang around the hotel (with free drinks and food all day) or you can walk out around the resort.

i think this will break you into holidays abroad easily and you probably wont need much spending money. i usually take about £100 for a weeks all inclusive holiday.
