faulty goods

My daughter bought a dress from French Connection for her prom and it cost her £110.
The hem came down during the evening & she was very upset.
When I look at it the stitching was faulty.
I am taking the dress back today can I insist on a refund or do I have to take a replacement?

Basically the goods are 'not of a Satisfactory Quality'
Assuming you had bought them less than 1 week before you can reasonably expect a refund. More than a week its less clear - however you may still be entitled to a full refund - its up to you to negotiate.

Thank you
I returned the dress this afternoon armed with all my info about sale of goods act etc.
They looked at it, acknowledged that it was faulty and asked if I wanted a replacement or refund.

:j I'm happy for you really but it could have easily turned sour for you if the shop had insisted that your daughters heels had caught in the hem and ripped it. But it didn't so good for you you lucky thing :rotfl:The solving of a problem lies in finding the solvers.0
