And I think you will find that it was Blob who was making generlisations, nobody else. Nobody said that all dads were deadbeat, but you can't deny that there are some out there - just as there are deadbeat mums also. Suggesting that all dads not seeing their children would be sad was a generalisation and I was pointing out that it was not the case. I would rather put the sympathy with the children who would like to have seen their dad yesterday, but was prevented from doing so by a) a vindictive PWC and b) a selfish NRP who would rather forget they exist.

Poor hubby was disappointed that he didn't get a card or phone call from is 17 year old daughter yesterday - luckily he did get something from my DD (his step-daughter).

When I bought my own father's day cards I bought my daughter's for her dad too - I don't get on with my ex but I wouldn't deny him a card on father's day - just wish that hubby's ex was the same !

Then again, his DD is nearly 18 and she earns her own money, she should take responsibility - plus there is no excuse for not even giving him a 5 minute phone call.

I didnt think it was sarcastic at all Zara. But my first point of call isnt that all posts are going to be sarcastic lol. If anyone wants to throw sarcasm at me I'll let you all know now you should tell me your being sarcastic or I wont know :o lol. not being funny.

Problem with black and white is that anything can be taken any way someone wants to take it. and if we are not careful with the words that we use within a post then someone can jump on a word within and re arrange its meaning.

at the top of this post where I started with if anyone ... I originally typed 'if you' I changed it to 'anyone' because didnt want Zara thinking I was singling her out which I wasnt and didnt intend it that way but she couldve taken it wrong. do you understand what i'm trying to get across;)

    Hi folks

I seemed to have mist most of this as I was out with my son yesterday and had a good time with him as I think he did with me. We all had a meal that I cooked and then they went back to their mothers and were very happy that their step father is now away for I think 5 weeks, but dont know or care.

Zara, it seems that some think I was wrong to make my point and that it has led to you feeling put apon by some people. If this is attributable to me I am truely sorry, and for my part I was very glad to see your post, it made me smile, thank you.

If the comments by some were aimed in my direction, so be it, been called far worse, and hope it made you feel better, as then it will have achieved something!

Zara thank you for your thought. Those who did not like it, may be you should look else where, who knows.
