Glass in compost

I bought a bag of appalling quality compost from a major retailer recently, it was full of twigs, mouldy lumps and many many stickers (??) within the "mud". Basically not much of it was usable but we shrugged it off as a lesson or buying a cheap range. However, as I was sticking my hand in today for a handful to top up a pot, I unwittingly grabbed hold of a sliver of glass within the bag and cut my hand on it, albeit slightly and not in the slightest bit seriously.
I was going to email the retailer and complain/notify them of this but it transpires they do not have a cs email address, it is only for online orders amd their complaints procedure guides you to your local branch.
Now it only cost a few quid and nothing major happened - BUT do I go into store and complain (not a shop I like and is out f my way) or do I just leave it as they can't help what gets dug from the ground and goes into their compost bags??
I'm 50-50, was annoyed at the time at what could have happened, but it didn't. Interestingly/oddly, the glass had blue print on it, something about "stamford" - not sure if Chelsea related or not and dunno where it is now, bf has put it somewhere, prob the bin!
At the end of the day, would the store staff even care in the slightest and would me bringing it up have any chance of stopping it happening again? I fear not, so am inclined to let it go but am interested in how others would react.

Whilst I would normally say you got the quality you paid for, the finding of bits of glass mixed in should be reported to the store manager as quick as possible.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

Sounds like you bought a load of old rubbish."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

Was it from B&Q I had loads of weird stuff in mine from there.
Bits of plastic bottles and metal ring pulls.
Almost anything but decent compost.0 -
Errrmmm......don't want to alarm you but if you have cut yourself on glass in compost ( or soil ) make sure you have a up to date tetanus jab cos things could get very nasty very quickly.
And I would complain long and loud.........even if it was 'cheap' compost it has to be of a certain standard.0 -
I got some of morrisons own compost a few weeks ago and it was full of twigs mud etc and was very lumpy, will never buy cheap compost again0

It was from Focus, looks like staying away from cheap compost from any shop is a wise move, we spent more time picking things out (twigs, plastic etc) than doing anything else, definite lesson to be learned about flase economising...
Just spent the afternoon digging up the back garden, totally shattered but will probably visit the store on Monday.0 -
Made by the Council recycling people from GREEN WASTE bins that probably contain heaven-only-knows-what.
I would recommend TETANUS, CHOLERA, DIPTHERIA and YELLOW FEVER jabs just to be sure, if you were unlucky enough to get a cut whilst handling it.
Compost - make your own - you KNOW that it makes sense, and where it has come from....I am a cow so cannot speak Bullshine but I do recognise its smell when I come upon it.0 -
AIDS? There is no vaccination for AIDS, and I don't think compost is a known vector for AIDS."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

Depends what you did with the compost.....I am a cow so cannot speak Bullshine but I do recognise its smell when I come upon it.0
