Carcraft Nightmare... HELP

I need some good advice as I'm totally unsure of what to do. Without writing pages, I bought a car on finance through Carcraft Rochdale, immediately realised the car had problems, so contacted carcraft let them know then returned the car, a couple of the jobs they did immediately but said they needed the car for a longer period to mend the roof (the car is a convertible and the roof mechanism did not work correctly), on another occasion it broke down totally and the RAC had to rescue me!! I then made enquires with Trading Standards and followed their instruction, so I contacted the finance company as I was purchasing the car from them and now matters have got worse. They did 'fix' the roof and it did work ok.... for 2 days!!!!, so then I've complained they've took it back said they'd send it to Peugeot to be fixed, so I thought fair enough. Anyway they have 'in house' fixed it again. I told my finance company I want to cancel my agreement as the car was faulty and shouldn't have been on the forecourt. Carcraft have refused and said now it is fixed I have to have it, but surely if this was any other product that was faulty upon sale I should not have to accept it. Its more or less saying no matter what state the car as long as they fix it your stuck with it!!! I know I've been an idiot wish I'd never gone there, it looks to me like its been submerged in water but I now have no confidence in the car or carcraft!! I've owned the car for 8 weeks and actually driven it for only 4!!! What can I do....Help!!!!!

If the car has been fixed then I don't think its reasonable to then reject it. If you wanted to reject it you should have ceased use and rejected it and refused the repair.
Re the last bit then you shouldnt have bought the car in the first place if you had doubts. Tbh I think you are stuck with it unless it becomes faulty again.
Re breaking down. It happpens to all cars, even brand new ones so dont think thats grounds either.0 -
My doubts were within the first days, I didn't have a test drive ( I know idiot!!!) but I felt quite pressured, I requested a test drive about 4 or 5 times, these met deaf ears and the salesperson kept telling me he was in a rush to pick his kids up!! Anyway with all their supposed vehicle checks I thought I'd be ok, well obviously not. The car was not fit for purpose and therefore shouldn't have been sold and thats not mentioning the feature I was sold that didn't exist (rear parking sensors) Anyway yes I've been a fool but this fool will do everything in my power to sort out this mess. Where does it say that if you buy something that has immediate faults as long as its eventually fixed you have to keep it???0

I would have thought that you could complain that you had been mis-sold, about the non-existent parking sensors. Do you have any evidence about this?0

The SOGA remedies are the right to a replacement, refund or repair. You were offered repair and accepted. unless new grounds exist you cant change your mind on this.
The parking sensors are a different matter but I somehow doubt this will be provable.0 -
I think if they attempt to repair 3 times and it doesn't fix it the your position is stronger. Someone more knowledgeable than me about faulty goods will tell you if I'm right or not. Carcraft have done the repair twice now so is the mechanism fixed?
Keep plugging away - don't give up til you have to and ignore negative people (it is your money and your car and you have to do what you're happy with)
Good luck. If you end up keeping the car you could always ask them to retro fit the parking sensors.0 -
I'm with Takoda, keep at them. Ignore the posters that suggest you roll over all the time, that's their choice.0

Thanks to everyone, basiclly I was with my Mum and partner when I was 'sold' the vehicle with parking sensors, whether they are independent witnesses I'm not sure. With regard to the repair I accepted it, partly due to the fact I was not totally sure of my rights, but when I was offered repair by Peugeot I accepted. The fact is it was not taken to Peugeot for repair. I have never come across a bigger bunch of scoundrels, the rot is from top to bottom I doubt they could lie straight in bed!!! I'm angry at myself obviously but so angry that they think they can just do what they want and treat people as they wish. How many poor people are going to be ripped off and buy shoddy vehicles. To be honest I really don't need this fight but feel really annoyed0

They have a huge reputation for ripping people off. Unfortunately people only research companies after they have signed up and have problems, or are so desperate for a car they are blinded by the bling and won't listen to reason.
Carcraft have nothing to do with cars, they are about selling finance deals generating huge profits, the car is an aside. That's why they couldn't give a monkeys about the cars they sell.
Good luck in your fight, remember you aren't fighting against car dealers, rather simple financial crooks who already have the upper hand.0
