been having a problem for a couple of months now with my internal hard drive clicking loudly, computer freezies and then the blue screen of death. Dosen't do it all the time. Sometimes its about 10 minutes after first switch on and sometimes like today, or about 15 minutes ago, it goes off after about 6 hours. I have taken it to a reputable PC repair shop and they couldn't find anything wrong with it. said they had it on for a few hours. When the blue screen comes up there are numbers that read;0x000000f4, 0x00000003, ox8949a8do,0x8949aa44,0x805fa1fo
other nubers have come up including; 0x000000f4, 0x00000003, 0x895a45co,0x895a4734,0x805fa1f0
Haven't loaded any software or hardware. Just think my HD is on the way out. Has anyone else had this problem?
Cheers

Sounds like it could be your hard disk on the way out. Do you have the make and model number to hand? If so it might be worth visiting the manufacturer's site and look for their diagnostic testing utility as it will test you drive thoroughly and report back any potential problems.0

Cheers for that. I'll have a look at that tomorrow. only had the HD about 2 years0 -
Might be worth backing up the data, i had a similar problem with a Dell 18 months ago and lost all my info due to a corrupt hard drive, had it replaced under garuntee but lost all the data.

Pottermuss is right. Do beware, your drive IS failing and by running a thorough test may well finish it of altogether. Backup before you do a test. The clicking may well be the controller flicking the heads back and forward against their stops. They won't do this many times before they stop moving altogether, or worse, break free. I've seen this happen quite a few times. Not with a modern drive admittedly."Hey, if love is blind, how come lingerie is so popular?" Cochrane. P673 TNG.0
