Cheapest property- where you live? Anecdotals

They are knocking down the large nice houses in my area to build affordable houses / slums of the future. It's sad.
Flats sell for upward of 120k and you would be hard pressed to find a house under 250k.

OK, Now I am really bored...off to find flats in North Laine Brighton as I remember the prices of them in 2001/02....cos we nearly bought one then but decided on employing a manager instead......I think this was one of our 'not so sensible' financial life decisions looking back.0

Cheapest in my area, radius of 10 miles is £89k, taking out business premises. However, this is a log holiday home.0

I remember viewing a flat top floor, no lift, opposite to the one above, so comparable in location and spec..I am sure it was about £135k.
Crazy money these places.

But the above is 190k and I am sure they used to go for 250k+
Hope that's enough anecdotal LP?0 -

I was just teasing. My skin is thick and my mind is liberal. Or was that the other way around?Favourite hobbies: Watersports. Relaxing in Coffee Shop. Investing in stocks.

I'm in Birmingham, 4 or 5 years ago there was nothing under £100,000 that you'd let your dog live in - now there are loads of flats and a fair few houses under that.
LOTS of new build 'apartments'...0 -
Within 10 miles - central Swindon - £50,000 buys you 1 bed ground floor flat ( in 2 storey house).
Should add that this propert is going to auction. ( BTL repo)
Added benefit is that the road is notorious for ladies of the night hanging out there.....0 -
Pembury, near Tunbridge Wells. It is an odd little village, house prices never really took off compared to the region and so you can still buy much more house for your money than most of the other villages around. And yet, it's within 55 minutes commute of kings cross, all the major airports, and they are building one of the largest hospitals in kent.
Pembury tis an odd place, I lived there for six mths (cottage next door to the black dog? Is that what its called?) And was an agent there many moons ago, people were easy to deal with in Pembury, compared to Tunny wells. Prices in the weald generally, have not fallen by any great amounts, the village I want to live in, is very stagnant, asking prices are crazy, nothing really selling, as they are still asking peak prices. However I know two distressed sales, that did go cheaply after being on for crazy prices for a long time. Other houses have been on the market for 4 years!!!!Pawpurrs x0
