Free accessible remote control for Sky customers for registered disabled people

Sky have an award-winning accessible remote control, compatible with all Sky boxes, which is available free of charge to all our customers.

It offers all the familiar features of the Sky+ remote in two variants with different battery door options - either a textured easy-grip door or a hand strap option to help customers with dexterity problems. Both versions have the additional benefits of:

larger and bolder graphics for easier button identification
raised contoured buttons with more reference points for easier button identification for visually impaired users
increased colour contrast between buttons and body of the remote
compatibility with all Sky+ and Sky boxes

In April 2009, the remote became the first product to be accredited Age OK by Age Concern and Help the Aged. To win the accreditation, the remote went through a rigorous selection process to ensure that the design is age-friendly and inclusive.
