  • yep Skint_Catt, going for unreasonable behaviour as I work 50/60 hours a week, do all the shopping, housework, gardening, financial running of the home, child rearing, decorating etc and its a very large 5 bed detatched to keep clean! husband has done nothing for 27 years........literally just work and sleep!

solicitor is sorting out a process server tomorrow......just want out now!

he isnt 'not accepting the marriage is over', just not doing anything to make it any easier.

as i am incharge of the financial running, i have supplied all relevant paperwork to my solicitor already.......hubbie dont even know what he earns a year!

we have lived separate lives for many years......holidays, friends, bedrooms etc..so why the reluctance to make it official?

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
I had this prob with my ex , we agreed to wait 2 yrs and "do it " amicably , when the 2 yrs were up he "changed his mind" , not that he still wanted to be married , he just wanted to be bloody awkward. I then served papers using unreasonable behaviour which he ignored at least 3 lots , I eventually had to serve something called "Deemed Service" (I think) which meant that he had admitted to some people that he had recieved them , just wasnt aknowledging them or responding to them. I did get my divorce but it took a good 12 months and a lot of money , it wasnt helped by the fact that he wouldnt get a solicitor and insisted on going to court both for the nisi and the absolute hearings and objecting each time. Thankfully the judge laughed him out both times and stated he had to pay costs , which he then refused to do and stopped working so I just gave up on that , getting the divorce was the main thing. Hope yours goes more smoothly.
