Party wall notice

Are tenants allowed to give consent to work under the party wall notice? Thanks

No - if you are the T then the information should be forwarded to your LL. If you check your tenancy agreement there is usually a term about passing on any notices affecting the property within a "reasonable" period of time.

Or are you a LL whose T *has* apparently given consent on your behalf , but without your prior knowledge?

Thanks, it's just the house I am buying needs both the rt & lt chimney breast to be supported (survey flagged no support in situ) The seller said it is no problem getting consent but I want it in writing and she did say that one is rented. I have been trying to get the work sorted out before I move in but if I need landlord's consent it will take more time. Thanks
