Please help me to calculate a gas bill

Hi,

First post here, so go easy!

My step-daughter moved into her flat last November and has not paid any bill - she never actually received a bill to pay (long story). Anyway, after much faffing, I've finally worked out that British Gas is her provider and they are going to send her an estimated bill in the next two weeks.

Clearly, my step daughter is concerned about how much this bill will be for - after all, it's been close to 6 months.

I have two meter readings:
00247,602 (the day she moved in)
00977,606 (today)

Can anyone give a rough estimate before the BIG one arrives through the letterbox.

Kindest regards

Jason

    977-247 = 730 meter units

    It's probably metric so approx 730 x 11= 8030 kwh

At approx 3p per kwh, that's about £240

If it's an imperial meter (measuring cubic feet), it'll be about three times as much.

She's used 730 units which is approximately 7880 kwh. To work out the cost you would need the unit prices.
