Problem with Where I Live

OK, this may be a long post so please bear with me and apologies if it is in the wrong place, but I posted it somewhere else and they suggested posting it here.

I live in a flat in the middle of a three floor block with my OH.

Last night I was woken by some rather loud music, not a problem as I knew where it was coming from and OH went and spoke to him about it, music was turned down, all was good.

I was wide awake at this point and all I could hear were doors banging, people running up and down stairs and the likes.

I managed to get back to sleep and when I got up this morning to go to my SIL's (which was abandoned due to the weather) I noticed there was blood everywhere.

While I was speaking to OH about it, the people who live in another flat on our floor, opened their door and told us what had gone on.

Seems the petty teenagers (one of whom lives on the top floor) had attacked a man because he was SCOTTISH:mad::mad::mad: I was absolutely appalled by this, and was then told that the blood was from the young lad having his head stamped on, and had blood coming from his ears:mad: Was also told they shouted "Welcome to England" as they were doing it. He's in Walsgrave hospital in intensive care we think.

The bloke who's flat it is upstairs has been arrested, and his mates mum (who lives in the next block) has been up into his flat to get her son's Xbox and she said it's like a drug den up there. No carpets, holes in the wall everywhere, his door is hanging off the hinges, she said it's absolutely disgraceful.

This is not the first time there has been blood on the stairs and surprise surprise it's all coming from the same flat, only the last time it was the occupier who'd had a beating because someone caught wind he'd been having s3x with a minor and his so called mates gave him a good hiding.

We've been on the phone to the people who we rent our flat from, asking if they can send someone to come and clean the blood up, as it's dangerous to be left where it is. It's all down the banisters, and all over the front door! Just as I was typing this, they turned up, so all the blood is now gone, as best they can.

Have spoken to a few other people who live in the block, two of whom are so fed up with the crap we are having to put up with, they are putting in for a move to somewhere else.

They don't care about these blocks at all. No-one was vetted before we were given the keys so anyone could have been moving in, they are supposed to be cleaned once a week and I've never seen them do a good job yet and there are always empty cans and other rubbish on the communal front garden because when they come to cut the grass they don't bother pick them up.

What can I do? Are we right in complaining to the people we rent our flat from? We're paying more to live in a 2 bed flat with the Housing Association than my SIL is paying to live in a two bedroomed house with the local council.

I don't want to move, I've just got settled here, and it does seem to only be one person who seems to be causing hassle for the rest of us

This may go on for some time...,

    A few suggestions....

    a) Keep a diary (Anywhere, just on a lined pad with dayte & times will do) of what happens, when, who was involved etc.. This will be "evidence" if things keep dragging on.
    b) If appropriate take photos (without making the evil ones too suspicious..) - eg "Blood everywhere".
    c) If the HA decide to do anything about this it will under "nuisance" or "ASBO". Beware other people then accusing you of similar nuisance so don't make rash remarks or write/email anything you might regret later.

Sorry to hear your story. Hope it gets better.

    Cheers!

Saw the occupier of the flat turn up last night in a police car, they went up to his flat, spent about 5 mins up there, went back outside, spent 10 minutes walking round the police car, talking and he was taken away in the police car.

We were told about an hour later he's been given a 24 hour eviction notice, he's got to come and get all his stuff today.

Thanks for all the help anyway :T:T
