Hi - been on hols for 2 weeks to come back and find that the next door neighbour has had his front garden shingled for car parking ( do you need council permission for this ? - with water run off issues etc ? )
his garden and ours are joined ,with no walls - I knew he was thinking of doing this but has done it since we were away and the line he was talking about doing it to has been widened by several inches - presumably to get another car on
I havn`t had a chance to speak to him yet since we got back and was wondering if anyone knew how we stand really - the house plans ( BOVIS 2004 ) show the gardens dividing line as running straight across the garden in the same line as the houses dividing line - but no measurements at all

while you're waiting for a response here have a look at a brilliant website called gardenlaw which also has a forum with loads of questions and answers exactly the same sort of thing as you. good luck0

If it runs in line, surely just draw a perpendicular line from the midpoint?0

Do you have legal expense cover on your home insurance? If so this will normally handle disputes over neighboor boundary disputes. If you did not take it then your Home Insurers will normally give you free legal advice about the matter, the telephone number is normally in your policy book on the same page as the telephone number for normal claims0

Speak to your neighbour first as he might not even know that it has happened as it could have been over zealous workmen that did it, I am giving your neighbour the benefit of doubt here but you know him better.0
