There's probably more calories in the wine - I'd swap and have 1 glass of wine and the whole cake!!
GISI - I got some jelly babies, wanna share?
No one answered my mattress question - might go and ask on Parent thread :eek:A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea

Sorry, can't answer that one Glam. I'm at the same point myself, searching for a mattress that doesn't cost £120.When we had DS, the in-laws bought out cot-bed and it came with a free mattress. Its was a fibre sprung Cosatto one and was very good. Am looking for something similar, i think rather than the foam ones. Can't be doing with all the different choices though, it hurts my head.0 -
Mmm...wine and cake. I could go for that.
Jelly babies would be lovely, thanks Glam!:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0 -

OK, well here goes ..........
Phoned the hospital this morning to see if Dylan could come home and was told that they werent sure yet, and I was to phone back at lunch time. Waited round for another 4 hours, and called again at 12.30 to be told that the consultant did not want to send him hime, and that he wanted to talk to me before discussing it any further . Well panic sets in and I got my FIL to take me up straight away.
We go in and it is feeding time, so I did his cares and fed him and sat there waiting for the consultant for nearly 2 hours.
Finally got in to see him and he said that they were happy with Dylans feeding but wanted to let us know the future before he came home. Wewerent told much about his ride up to NICU in the ambulance that 1st night other than he took a bad turn and was put on 100% O2, but it seems that he did not get enough oxygen for a short period of time and may have had a short period of time where he was oxygen deprived. Because of this they feel that there may be future consequences of brain damage, but nothing major, so they asked a neurologist to come and see him this morning and she is not happy with his arm movements and thinks there is a possibility of him developing a degree of ceribal palsy (sp??) but there is no way of knowing this early on.
So I just sat there and cried, as you do, and Chris just looked at me. Have had all afternoon to think about it now, and it is only a chance, but he has to see a pediatrician for the next 2 years to check his development stages closely.
So thats my day ... not quite what I had planned :rolleyes:The two best things I have done with my life

STOPTOBER CHALLANGE ... here we go !!0 -
Oh Glam, I meant to look at the matress link!
I prefer a sprung interior as they don't get too warm and last longer, with a removable washable cover, not a plastic waterproof one but one that will absorb sweat etc on the top layers without it going into the springs. That way you can wash it if they are sick but they don't get all sweaty at night with a plastic sheet below them.
It was mothercares own spring interior one I got last time and it lasted for both the boys without sagging. The new ones come with a spare cover so you can have one in the wash and one on the matress.0
