Is £45 a good price to travel from edinburgh to London? This would be using the train to go down and the bus to come back up!

I guess it isnt too bad! When would you be going/coming back? Have you a reason for going by train and coming back by train?Weight Loss - 102lb0

I suppose it is a good deal, yes. VERY long journey back by bus of course.
You might want to wait and see - there might be someone on here with a GNER offer that might save you some time/money.

im going to get the train down because it is quite cheap and quick it only cost £28 and the bus back because of the price of a single from london on the train!0

Is it possible that your return train times are in the 4.30pm - 8pm departure bracket? If so, it could be that that's making your return ticket prohibitively expensive. If by chance you are able to return either earlier or later, you might wanna have another look on the train website....0

I don't know whether this is relevant or not. Have your try Midland.Mainline.co.uk? There is a promotion on now & I don't know when it ends. I booked a return trip Lon-Nottingham-London adult price from £6.00 each way & children 50%. £6.00 fare depends on what time & date you travel. It is worth a try. Check it out. Might save you a fortune!!0

yes the return time if i was getting train would be about 5.00 pm0

Ah then that's your problem. They know demand is huge for rush-hour trains out of London (and if you've ever been on one, they're PACKED - like a Cattle Truck, and so they charge an arm and a leg for the priveledge.0

I do think £17's a good price. Got any good books?

When I have booked trains I use https://www.virgintrains.co.uk and go to their value fares section! I also tend to check the timetables on https://www.nationalrail.co.uk ! I got £25 return to london not long since from the north west which I thought was a great deal!Weight Loss - 102lb0
