Switching Home Insurers ~ Quick question

Options
I've never switched before.. and have no idea what I'm doing.. :o

I currently have my home insurance with the AA .. I want to switch to Tesco.

I'm only a few months into this years policy with AA (been with them yeeears)..

Do I just cancel? .. or will I have to pay some kind of premium for leaving?

Thankyooo

I'd like to know this too. I'm trying to cancel with Norwich Union and they are trying to charge me about £110 to cancel

    Helloo

Well.. if it helps. I just called AA (im leaving) .. and Tesco. (im joining)

Both of them said .. for new customers they pay the cancellations fees for the company you are leaving.

AA charged me £30 to leave. (which I just paid, or you can do it Direct Debit) .. and are sending me a cancellation letter with the charge on there..

and Tesco gave me the address to send that letter to.. So they can pay me the £30 back. :T

So maybe when you find the one you want to go with.. ask them if THEY will pay the cancellation fee for you.

If you cancel and switch at renewal, then you won't have to pay a fee to your previous insurance company.
