Quick Step Laminate (Quadra Luna)

Options
Has anyone got the Luna tile-effect laminate?

I'm thinking of getting it for my kitchen/diner but worried it will be too light/white. I've got a small sample and from that it seems to pick out the green from my walls but it is difficult to tell what it would look like over a larger area.

    Hi,

Thought i'd be the first to reply....your OP has been sitting on its own for a couple of days!

the Quick Step ranges are probably the most expensive 8&9mm laminate ranges on the market, but it pays to buy quality: fitters love to put it down, as its a breeze in comparison to some of the cheaper, substandard laminates out there.

    Givethis a go:

...not your own home I know, but gives a good idea of what the products look like when fully laid!

Apart from this, all I can suggest is to request a loan of a few of the tiles from the retailer (offer to leave a returnable deposit if they dont trust you). Because of different lights etc etc, the flooring will look slightly different in the showroom to what what it will look like in your home.

    Thanks for replying.

I know someone who can get me a discount on the quick-step laminate and he's given me some samples but hasn't been able to get any samples of this particular one. I had tried one shop but they didn't stock it - just ordered it as it was bought. Maybe I'll try some other places.

Hi, I fitted the exact same one in the bathroom a couple of years back. Looks great and is excellent quality. Things to watch out for.... As with all laminates they are not ideal for wet areas, bathrooms or kitchens. The main thing you need to avoid is standing water. I have had no problems except one joint near the shower which is showing some signs of water ingress. Still, compared to the carpet I had before I would still choose this any day. The other thing was the cost of the threshold strip for the door. To get this in the same colour was really expensive and in hindsight I would just buy an aluminium or brass one that matches the other room(s) leading to the bathroom.

Bottom line is that it looks great but make sure you wipe any pools of water up if you are using it in a bathroom or kitchen
