Hi,
We've chosen an estate agent to sell our house with and got a fee 1.3% but are wondering whether to go with the solicitors they have recommended.
They have quoted £850+Vat for sale and £600+Vat for buying which includes HIP pack.
This is for selling up to £200k and buying up to £300k.
Is this about right or should we go elsewhere???!
Advice really appreciated on any questions we should be asking etc.
Thanks in advance!

It's always best to shop around for solicitors as the fee's they charge can vary greatly.
If you can get a recommendation from somebody you know, then that's the best way to go, but if not, shop around & go by your instinct. The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0 -
Shop around. Prices will vary from around !300 - 800!
Be careful to compare like-with-like. Get a breakdown of what the quote includes and what will cost extra. with 'extras' ask how much eg for the solicitor to complete your Stamp duty form might be included, might cost £25, or even £50 extra.
