in Credit cards
ive had my credit card (with sky) for 3 years now with a 2000 limit on it i maxed it out within the first 6 months and havent used it since because i missed so many payments on it my balance is still 1500 left to pay in total i must of payed them about 5000 with all the charges and interest
oh and when i got my balance down to 1500 they dropped my limit to that much so as soon as they put the interest on my account i was over my limit and more charges! how can i get them to close my account and stop charging me interest, wich is about 30 pound a month!!

transfer the balance to a 0% card and close the sky account. If you will the end, you must will the means.0

but because you have missed so many payments, it 'might' have affected your credit file so have a look at your credit file

Pay off what you owe them and then tell them to shut down your account.
The fact is you borrowed money from them and agreed to the terms of repayment.0 -

Ask them to freeze the account - that means you will not longer be able to spend on it, but interest rate will also freeze. Make sure you pay off the amount to bring you back below the limit and make (atleast!) the min repayments thereafter.0

I would say make sure always keep an eye on whtas goin on , because so many people have had this. Bloody crooks.
Anyway have you tried speaking to the customer service team ? In certain cases they do reverse this charges, (In my case cao 1 once did it for me). You can always give them some B's, like they reduced your limit all of a sudden without giving you much time to sort your finances out and all that and then request for a reversal of the charges, they just might do it for you.
Also I would say try paying it off and don't use your card, as with so many late payments on your file IMHO it's highly unlikely that you would get a card with a decent Apr !!0 -

By clearing the balance in full, either by transferring the balance to another card or repaying it. Best deal at the moment is the Virgin Money card, 0% for 16 months with a 2.98% fee. Apply for it, transfer the full amount (or as much as you can get depending on the credit limit they offer you) plus interest to it and then work to repay as much as possible before your 0% deal runs out. If you get declined because your missed payments have trashed your credit rating then you'll be no worse off, so go ahead and do it.
Yes, the amount of interest and fees you've paid is prohibitive. That's why you're not supposed to miss so many payments, but you no doubt know this by now.
Random question. It's good that people come here for answers when they've got themselves into the !!!!!!, but it'd so much better if they came here to learn from other people's mistakes before they got into it.
Not aimed at the OP who's got a genuine question to ask and is paying for their mistakes, but it does get tedious when other people make their 1 and only post looking for help to write off "unfair" debts they've incurred through not understanding they have to repay all that money they spent."A child of five could understand this.
