Belkin Router problem

Once again I am asking advice from the knowledgable Techies.
I arrived home last night and switched on the computer, but then noticed that the lights of the belkin wireless modem router were not lit. So I thought that the electricty had gone off (as the lights go off when this happens) I took out the power cable and replaced as normal, but still no power. I changed the power socket and still not lights so I reckon it has gone tits up. I have my speedtouch 330 as standby so was up and running again. The Belkin has a lfe time warranty (it says on the box) So do I take it back to pc world (I still have the receipt) and ask them to replace it? I bought it back end of 2004 so it is about a year and a half old. Or do I get in touch with belkin? Obviously I would prefer to get it replaced at pc world as it would be quicker. And my contract is with them right?
hope for some advice

Have you got a multimeter? If you have check the voltage from the transformer (should be more than 4.5V).If not see if the transformer is getting warm.
If it is a faulty transformer maybe PC world will let you swap this which will save you reconfiguring a replacement modem.
The contract is only with PC world for a year so it'll probably have to go back to Belkin for their Lifetime Guarantee.
I don't know whether PC World can do this or if you have to go direct.A greedy man's bag is never full0 -
