Your on ADSL I assume? Wireless router?

It's going to generate a lot of electrical noise, nothing you can do about that.

Shorten the phone cable as much as possible, these things are like big long aerials, they love to pick up interference and make sure no phone cable runs near the treadmill.

Oh and most people sit down when they use the PC :p

The treadmill is at the opposite end of the house to the router and unfortunately there isnt anywhere else I can easily site either of them. I wouldnt mind if things reverted to normal when it wasnt being used, but they dont. I have to reboot the router and this suggests to BT that the line is unstable or dropping and they reduce my line profile for a few days makinf things even worse.

Are there any phone sockets near to the treadmill at the opposite end of the house to the router? Try disconnecting the wire connected to pin 3 at the master socket, as only the wires on 2 & 5 are necessary.
