Balaia Plaza-Algarve

I managed to get a good deal for a family of four in Balaia Plaza for a week this easter break for £ 800 SC. It is our first time in Algarve. Is it a good choice/ or location? Has anyone had some experience in that area?

We stayed here in 2001, when it was newly opened and travelled with Virgin Sun. The complex itself was lovely - the pool was set away from the Apartments, but was big and had a separate kiddies pool. Our kids at the time were 4 and 1. The closest resort is Praia D'Oura, which was about a 30 minute walk away along a busy road, and then further on from there is the lively Albufeira. Taxis are very reasonable and I would recommend hiring a car if you want to see more. Vilamoura is about a 45 minute drive away and we spent most evenings there around the Marina. Across the road from the Apartments is a beach, however, its acessed by many very steep steps. You can walk further down the road to get to it.
