Hi,
is that not a good reason to abort IE8, I've had the update message for over a week now and not bothered, have a look at some of the other IE8 threads, there seems to be a lot of problems with slow loading, crashing, etc.0 -
I thought I had to update it!!! Our laptop died a few days ago, so we are using my mums old pc, which was quite slow. We run various cleaners & managed to fix the slowness problem but the internet is still slow & we thought it is maybe because her internet explorer is outdated!!!0

You can use any version of I.E. , I downloaded 8 a few weeks back and didn't like it at all, so for now I'll stay with 7.Every day when I wake up I thank the Lord I'm WELSH. .0

Service Pack 3 has been out for a while now...0

It maybe that the download is not IE8.
The Microsoft download page for IE8 is http://www.microsoft.com/windows/internet-explorer/default.aspx
The downloaded IE8 file should look something like IE8-WindowsXP-x86-ENU.exe0
