Is the Ea having me on?

About two weeks ago, I phoned the Estate Agent about a newly refurbished flat I have seen and am interested and he told me that the flat is "under offer". I have been checking the internet and the EA onw website and the flat is still "for sale". I am wonderig why is he lying to me, may be it is due to my french accent and he has decided he does not want to do business with me. I am puzzled. My experience with EA on the phone is a lot of rudiness. I have yet to see a nice one I can deal with, I am loooking in Harrow. Would be grateful if anybody could recommend a nice one.

Can't see why they don't want to do your business just because you have a French accent.

We called the EA to make an offer on House 1 but was told it was already under offer.

We were a bit disappointed and went on to look for another house which is under another EA. Viewed House 2 and decided that is more suitable and so we made an offer.

Now we are in the process of buying House 2 and it is shown as Sold subject to contract on the website.

However, House 1 was still shown as 'For sale'.

It might be that the sales has fallenl through for house 1, or that the EA there are too slow in updating.
