Halifax Credit Limit

Hi,

Any idea if Halifax does a credit for credit limit increase?

    credit search? If you are asking them to increas it they might do one, but you could just ask them. I had a BOS card which is halifax really, and they kept increasing my limit every few months without me asking, and when I queried this they said they didn't do a search, they just used the account and payment history to decide. Seems it's done automatically anyway, they increased my limit all the way upto £9.5k before I asked them to stop increasing it and lower it to £4.5k.

    You need to think about applying for other credit as well in the future, as lenders will see your available credit, so if they keep upping the limit then you have more available which could affect their decison, Only in banking to borrow money you need to prove you don't need it!
