Can someone help with Housing Benefits?

Around 2 and 1/2 years ago I moved into my girlfriends council property with her little girl - we now have another young child under one year.
Before I moved in my girlfriend was gaining benefits as she was a single mother - but when I moved in I obviously took over the bills which then included rent at £75 per week etc.
I now receive working tax credit of around £22 per week and she gains her child tax credits etc.
My question is though, I have just put all my details into the entitledto web-site for what I earned last year and it states on there that I am entitled to Housing Benefit and that I should be paying £250 less per month than what I am paying now
Is this correct? even tho I earned slightly more than the year previous? What has changed? Should the housing association know about this?
Any help or advice would be appreciated.
Thank You

Have you ever applied for Housing Benefit (now LHA)? If you haven't then you might want to do so as you don't just get this automatically as a discount. I think that they can backdate this for three months.0
