I have vegetarian relatives who would prefer not to eat cheese made with rennet so I understand the question but, quite honestly, this is too sophisticated a policy for most countries and you'd be better just trying to find meals without actual meat in. This can be difficult enough, without taking things to extremes.

Vegetarians are just attention seeking people who find that life eating anything is just too easy - thus they try and make life a bit more difficult by not eating meat - going completely against what their bodies were designed for... And then expecting everyone to move the earth to accommodate their fussy eating habits.
As a vegetarian for the last 29years, I do find this hilarious!

I hate picky eaters, whether they be vegetarian or meat eaters, and I do agree with your assertion that many of them are attention seekers.
The vast majority of my close friends didn't realise that I'm vegetarian for a good few years because it's no big deal to me and they have usually experienced my mean steaks or lemon and tarragon roast chicken by then.

When I worked on hotel reception, the hotel chef used to try out his new veggie options out on me before he would put them on the new season's menu and I loved that experience...going onto the night shift with some delicious creation put aside for my supper was a absolute treat.

Through work, I'm lucky enough to visit many 4 and 5* hotels and you can absolutely guarantee that when I'm happy with the food, the meat eaters will be exstatic! But when I get served something that resembles pureed Heinz baby food (and that has happened at a notable 4* city centre hotel), the meat eaters will be disappointed and possibly sick the next day (that has also happened with 2 colleagues having to go home ill the following day owing to under cooked eggs at breakfast. Ewww...).

I resolutely stand by the belief that if you can view the vegetarian options on a menu and (as a meat eater) be tempted, you can almost guarantee that the meat options will be marvellous because it shows that the chef has really considered flavours and textures, etc...and taken up the challenge that vegetarians undoubtedly present. Personally, I have no intention of making such a challenge. I made a personal choice many years ago and if a chef is uncomfortable with that, then I'm more than happy with egg and chips. It's really not a big deal.

To date, my favourite U.K. hotel restaurant option is Sampans at certain Crowne Plaza hotels. Gary Rhodes W1 at the Guoman Cumberland was fabulous and I have endured Brian Turner coming out of the kitchen and challenging me at the Millennium Mayfair after another fabulous dinner. :D
That man hates vegetarianism and I am Lancastrian (2 down marks in his eyes) but he certainly did me proud with that dinner. To me, that's the mark of a great chef.
  • I'm going contact them direct, having had a look at reviews there not much about online.
It's pretty expensive place to go so I would expect them to cater for all diet needs wether by choice or religious.

    ehhmm NO

I'm starting to wonder about your starting point in thinking about this TB (no disrespect intended in the following but I have to ask).

    Have you been abroad b4?

Do u speak Spanish or Catalan?

Do u expect everything to be the same as in the UK (I have frequently heard people on coaches back to the airport complaining about .. " can't get a proper cup of tea" .. "the meat is different" etc etc etc can't help wondering why come abroad personally but things are different and it can be difficult as a vegetarian but it's not impossible.

    Try this website http://www.vegsoc.org/

there are books around too to help

I'm a bit surprised at you saying that it's an expensive trip to port Aventura as I thought it was cheap compared to UK parks but then it was cheaper to buy euros when I last went 2 years ago

    good luck
