Looking for cheapest Flight to New York! HELP!!!

Hi everyone.
I’m desperately looking for the cheapest possible flights to New York, where I am studying for about two months this summer.
I am looking to travel from any UK airport to Any New York Airport around the dates:
OUTBOUND
1st August
RETURN
12th September
I’ve looked in all the usual flight search websites: opodo, expedia, etc.
The cheapest I’ve found is around £300. This is a pretty good price I think, but I’d obviously like them cheaper,
So if anyone out there has found cheaper, or knows any good places to look, please let me know.
Thanks!

I got my cheap flights to new york with opodo, £206 each from london heathrow to new york, signed up for the fare alert emails with opodo, and found a discount code on MSE too. So might be a good idea to sign up for those emails??0

£307 during the school holidays is excellent.0

I don't expect you'll find anything cheaper. In fact, I suggest you grab those flights pretty sharpish!0

Yeah, i did think that was a pretty good price- if that period is a 'peak' time, then i suppose i won't be able to find the £200 student deals for those dates ?!?
I've now registed for the opodo flight alerts and i just have to wait to hear about my accomodation before i can book those flights.
Thanks :j0 -

On a different tack have you your entry arrangements to the USA sorted?
Although the majority of visitors can enter for up to 90 days on a Visa Waiver, there are special rules about students.
Assuming that you are a young student, the US Immigration officials often look very closely at youngsters seeking to stay for longish periods.
The US Embassy website states:Student Visas
A student wishing to attend a university or other academic institution in the United States requires a student (F-1) visa; those wishing to attend a vocational or non-academic institution require an M-1 visa. Holders of visitor (B-2) visas and those who have entered the United States visa free under the Visa Waiver Program are prohibited from entering into full-time study. Contact the Fulbright Commission Educational Advisory Service for information about studying at colleges and universities in the United States.
I don't know how "full time study" is defined but it is worth getting it checked out(if you haven't done so already). The authorities are not renowned for giving entrants the benefit of the doubt.0 -

Thanks for the information.
I still to sort out Visa stuff really- i'm waiting on info from the instituion.
I'm hoping that since the course i'm doin is only 4 weeks & i'm just on holidays for another 2, that i might not require a visa.
But i will try and find out soon.
