Yes, that is exactly what happened! We were jumping around for a bit and making noise but no beep!

O/H checked all the connections, tried different monitors, HDD, different cables etc etc, and nothing! just the noise from the fans, and of course, me cursing ... again! On a plus! This old PC is working a lot faster since he moved the HDD arround a bit It's a lot quieter now too since he bought a new fan for it, the other ones bearings had gone or something, whatever they are :rolleyes:

O/H said he would rather invest in a laptop, which I don't mind, provided he doesn't load it with heaps of junk again! So, we thought of getting a laptop and an external 300GB HDD (for O/H's stuff) for £100 ... is that a good price? Or, maybe 2 laptops, to stop the erm .... bleeps coming from us :rotfl:

Oh, never thought of that! Good idea! I am really gutted about the PSU I fried, I may as well have thrown £30 in the bin!

Will have a look on there, also remembered Gumtree.com. Can be O/H's tinker toy if it don't cost more then travel!:D
