quick question for ebico customers
I've recently switched to ebico and the first card said that all over it but when I've got a request for a opening meter reading, the letter says 'welcome to southern electric'
I know that they're the same company but is this normal? I would have expected it to say ebico on the letter somewhere

Yes, you'll get lots of confusing bumf. Just keep a close eye on actual bills and make sure you are on the Ebico tariff.
You can always phone up Ebico on their 0800 number to check that you are registered as having applied for their tariff.0 -
The first card I got was only branded with the Southern brand, and so are my current gas bills, only a small Equigas logo appears halfway down on the bill. These are my thoughts and no one else's, so like any public forum advice - check it out before entering into contracts or spending your hard earned cash!
I don't know everything, however I do try to point people in the right direction but at the end of the day you can only ever help yourself!0 -
Thanks, looks like it's right then, I was just a bit worried that they'd signed me up to the normal tariff.0

Ebico have also stopped offering a 4% direct debit discount. Has anyone enquired about this?0

Never saw they advertised one.I'm not cynical I'm realistic
(If a link I give opens pop ups I won't know I don't use windows)0 -
When did they start to offer a discount? I thought one of their principal tenets is "remember, whichever payment method you choose, you’ll be charged the same flat-rate tariff with no standing charge"!0

They never did offer a discount, however there was a problem with SSE's billing system which automatically took off the 5% discount on Ebico accounts but the unit rates were adjusted to cover this. They have now sorted this so they can remove the discount.0
