If you're happy to pay, then pay. You'll still owe the money whether you pay or not? After you did the chargeback they were quick to contact you and explain the situation... mistakes happen, I don't think they have behaved particularly poorly.

Tell them you think a discount as a goodwill gesture is appropriate for the inconvenience.

Assuming you have bought goods/services from Ethical Superstore then you are legally bound to pay for them.

The 'bank error' is irrelevant - errors are there to be corrected, not taken advantage of.

(Firstly, I know that 'ethical' is primarily a marketing label but still...)

You bought goods from an 'ethical' shop but you don't trust them or value them enough to want to minimise the expenses this mess up is causing them?!? Why shop there in the first place? Mistakes happen.

(And, of course, their business account is not likely to receive many of the protections or automatic refunds that your personal account will have.)
  • also it isnt a bank error.

The merchant bank will have billed under the agreement name with the merchant. more likely to avoid costs the merchant has had one name and used it for all its subsidiaries etc or the like and are blaming bank errors.

All that aside you ordered it so pay up
