Another one for ED?

Hi folks. Today I have received a letter from the OR, the same as many seem to be getting. It asks for details of income, alas the only income I get is JSA.

Do I have to list the outgoings and income?

Or is this N/A because of circumstance?

I went BR in early March, It seems a little early to be contemplating an ED.

Or is this the norm?

Hope you are all well. Regards Hoos.;)

Does it have ED REV at the top?

  • Does it have ED REV at the top?

It has C ED (top left) and IPOQ (top right) on one form

On the other(the letter) it does indeed have ED REV (top right)

    What does it all mean?

Looks like your being considered for ED then.....:D

Blimey. How long is the usual BR ED ie 6/9 months or less?

I have just called the dear Miss Jones and she confirmed ED, she needs the form IPOQ back ASAP to start proceeding.

All the creditors have been informed of the BR although you would hardly know it, with the amount of demands I get, including attempted bribery.

Ex. Pay £50 and we will credit your account with £50 and so on and so on.

Will I have to put my SOA up on here or is this irrelevant because of circumstance ie JSA?

You still have to fill in the IPOQ.

However, since your only income is JSA then it is just a formality really. No IPA can be made based on in it.

Then its a waiting game soon as you send your IPOQ back (dear Ms Jones will write to all creditors & ask if they've any objections to your ED being granted).....earliest i've seen is 5 & a bit months

remember though...it could be shelved at anytime if the office is busy etc....fingers crossed

Hi Phil. What do you mean about "Being shelved"? Like lost in the vast pile of BR files in the universe? never to be seen again.

Exactly. If they're very busy when they get your form back it can get put back on the bottom of the 'to do' pile.

Remember that processing the paperwork etc for Early Discharge is a very low priority job or the OR. In fact it is actually non-essential work.

So if your OR's office should become too busy, then they will use the time and staff elsewhere to deal with new and ongoing cases rather than EDs.

Took nearly 4 months for mine to get sorted, and that was back when the offices were waaaaaaay less busy. To be honest I just assumed that it wasn't going to happen in the end.

    Hi everyone,

Please may I join in? I sent my ED form (IPOQ) back a couple of weeks ago. Do they inform you if and when ED is given or should I be checking somewhere? Having a "doh" moment!!
