Agreed, and now the motoring forum is full of lyrca clad fools asking about pedal bikes. First the vent forum was removed and now this, I'm getting fed up of this site.0 -

It is the idiots in their cars on their phones and eating at the wheel who cyclists and bikers need to watch out for.0 -

I've always had great service and value for money there and if you look at their website you'll see it's run by a guy who really knows what he's doing.0 -

You cant class cyclists and bikers the same. There are groups of cyclists that campaign against motorbikes, they are uninsured, they dont pay for their own ambulance even when they cause the accident, they go straight through red lights and are generally one of the most antisocial road users around.0

There seems to be a mis-guided link between paying for the right to go on the road and being entitled to respect from other road users. If you actually read the Highway Code (don't worry car drivers, lots of pictures and no long words) it's clear that all road users are the same, if you choose to ignore that then you are wrong in law.
Car and motor-bike users are required to have insurance (though about 20% go without) because they cause the vast majority of serious accidents, and some of the opinions here suggest why that is.
There are some cyclists who take advantage but on the whole cyclists are trying to save their skin from the appalling drivers they come up against, commuting on a bike is enjoyable apart from the risk from drivers, frustrated from sitting in queues and looking for somebody to pick on.0 -
i once had a lycra clad idiot on a racing bike go up the inside of me at traffic lights and smash off my wing mirror, when i shouted at him he replied "sorry mate i didn't see you".
when i got to the shop i was traveling to i failed to see his bike and promptly crushed it between my car and the wall, you should have seen his face, it cost me a new number plate but it was worth it.
the police never charged me for criminal damage, becouse as they pointed out to him, if he pressed charges against me i could also have him charged for the same offence for taking my mirror off:rotfl:
i pay insurance on my car and motorbike, they should pay as well, and have a number plate0 -

Unbelievable!!!!
I've been cycling to work these last few weeks.
I normally ride a motorbike.
I sometimes drive a car.
I even use the bus on occasions.
Guess what? I pay road tax and insurance on the motorbike and car.
Guess what? I have just as much right to use the road on my pushbike.
Guess what? There are actually NORMAL people who CHOOSE to use the bus.
Guess what? I'm the same person whatever mode of transport I use.
I suppose I'm acceptable though because I'm not a 'lycra-clad idiot', I don't jump red lights, and I've fitted a mirror so at least I know in advance when a car driver's going to try to shove me off the road (and no, cycle paths are NOT an effective alternative when you're using a bike as a means of transport - fine for leisure rides I suppose).
