  • If it is an excel spreadsheet then you need to click on the autosum button (looks a bit like a [ that has been pushed in in the middle) in the cell where you want the total, then highlight all the boxes that you want summed.

Not sure if I'm allowed to ask this question but.....what's the most you've ever asked for in mileage? and how far from your house was the location?

I did a job a few weeks ago and got £50 for 100 mi round trip. That's more than I would usually ask for, but it was last minute and on slow-ish roads. I always work out how much I'm prepared to do a job for and aim for more when negotiating, but never go below the amount I decided on. Sometimes it's just not worthwhile when companies offer very low amounts and I say to them it's not worth my time for the amounts they offer.

some lovely MS-er has kindly agreed to have a look at mine for me!
I could not find the auto sum button but the Excel spreadsheet I have is a read only as the excel I have on my pc is an old version.

Hey folks - been away for a while but my gee's its been a mammoth MS month this month

Creaker - it all depends on your reputation with the MS companies but the most I have ever received for Travel is £400 to fly to Shetland and back from Aberdeen for a day. The flight was £195 so by the time i took into account buses, parking etc I made £175 ish on the travel. As I was living in Glasgow at the time it was a trip of what, 300 miles each way I suppose!

I did get paid £85 travel to do a coffee shop in Aberdeen driving from Inverness, 220 miles round trip.

It also depends on the companies. I have one who will happily pay £65 to drive 130 mile round trip quite regulalry, but others who will only pay an extra £10 per trip of 100 miles, but they will give you 3 or 4 en route to help cover the costs.

    Hi everyone,

I just started Mystery Shopping and I already have 9 lined up over the next 3 weeks - all pretty similar things.

Although I've done a bit of mystery shopping before, a few years ago, this is the first time that I've used any of these companies and I am a bit confused about a couple of them.

For example - with one, the assignments are all food places. While most of them pay about £7.50 (£3.50 for food, so £4 payment), there is one particular food place where you only get enough money to cover the order - is this common?

Also, with R E (?), how do you get to see available assignments?
I can't work it out at all!

    Thanks for any help!

Alas it is quite common to get zero fee for some companies (I tend to avoid unless it is somewhere I dont mind eating - long necked animal or italien male couple places - or it would be useful to have a free lunch). I dont do the chicken or the burger ones as I dont want the calories tbh (plus there is not much of a fee).

With RE there are not that many assignments about at the moment - but you need to make sure you add in any additional postcodes and also the milage from those places you are willing to travel. I think as well unless you have a certain amount of points with RE (ie done at least one job) you will only see certain type of establishment (with low fee too) - just do one local to you and once report submitted and approved different types of job will appear. There is also an option for uploading a photo - not sure if that makes any difference to the type of job you can get.
