Re the TNS supermarket visits. It states that we should not use the self service checkout to pay BUT some of the assignments ask you to check that counter???
Also some dont state to check the cafe or loos in the list but still reimburse you for buying something in these areas, so should they be checked or not?

They usually say don't use the self checkout, because they want to grade the service you receive at the till, but you do have to observe the self-checkout - from memory to see if it's staffed.

I've always had cafe on the list where there is one. If there's a reimbursement, I'd say do it!

Can you accept jobs on RE if they were supposed to be done today? It does say in the questionnaire if you can complete in the timescale so you'd have to answer no and then you can't be accepted for the assignment.

I have just taken a job on RE that should have been done by today (there are loads that were due today??) I want to do this tomorrow but will i be able to if i have not had comfirmation that it is ok? I have emailed them. Are they around in the office tomorrow??

They are usually in from about 9:30 on Saturday so give them a ring. They won't mind!

OR - release the station food type jobs because now, one report is not enough - we have to fill in two. But don't get a double fee.

    Hi ya Dan

I would just like to say that you seem to give such good advice I didn't realize your age until today. ;) I agree the team at RE's are really good at sorting things if they can :D

Wow, that's really nice of you, thanks! :D You can write my references for employers then, since I don't have any past employers yet.

I didn't know my age was publicly available btw? Or are you surmising from my sig?

To people asking about two instances of the same job - this is a new thing, see the briefing notes. You fill in a separate survey, to be submitted separately. And it's not for no fee, you get a little one... Lol.

    ----

Has anybody contacted RE on a Saturday before? I don't really know how it works, presumably there's only a skeleton staff on, so do you have to call some sort of central number (and if so, what is that number?), or can you get through on the individual's contact numbers?

Yes, you phone the main number on their website. You might not get through to whoever is dealing with that particular assignment but someone will be able to help with changing dates and stuff.

The briefing notes are completely different to the ones I printed off, but the emails don't mention any changes other than the drinks ones.

I never print briefing notes or paperwork until either the evening before or the actual day of an assignment. I've had so many in the past that have had last minute changes, so I leave all printing of paperwork until the last minute, just in case!
Here I go again on my own....

OK, so I've had just enough Merlot  to try to start a short discussion on the MS thread. Please indulge me, people...

In my vast MS experience and ultimate MS wisdom;), I have identified improvements/modifications which could be made on some of the MS job sites.... (I know, I know, and I really hate it when people tell me how to do my job - which they do on a daily basis - so I'm aware of how this may sound)

Anyhow, soldiering blindly on, these are as follow:

RE - wouldn't it be great if you could get rid of those jobs that you are never, ever going to take? You know the ones. They hang around for days on end and, either you are ineligible for them or they are not well-paying enough or whatever the reason. Wouldn't it be great just to click and remove them from your radar without having to scroll and scroll and scroll every time just in case something new is nestling amongst them.?

ABAi - it can't be just me, can it......? Several great clients to choose from but you have to search through each one laboriously - local, not local, booked, not booked, four searches for each client (and often nothing doing at the end of it). There MUST be an easier way to do this?

Anyhow, I've run out of Pringles now so I must get off to the kitchen and replenish supplies. I've also secreted a Boost bar in the fridge so I might be some time (no, I'm not a compulsive eater. It's Friday and I'm not going out:beer:)

completely agree - I prefered the old RE system which let you just choose the area you wanted to shop in when you were looking for a job, instead of having all jobs come up in all locations, - yes sometimes I might be visiting those areas but not always.

GAP - they don't have a way to remove towns when there's no eligible jobs. I got sacked from doing greasy burgers but my local town still shows in the search all section which gets me excited thinking there's a job but when I click through I find there isn't. I now have to search each individual client to find jobs which takes time.
