HIP query

Hi,
I have had an offer accpeted on a property and am currently at the stage of having the survey done.
I have just read elsewhere on MSE that any searches that are in the HIP will need to be redone if they are over 3 months old. I have a copy of the HIP and it was complied on 20/03/09.
My question is, will these searches need to be done again? The offer was accepted on 05/06/09.
I know it's probably not a lot of money in the grand scheme of things but we're FTB and pushing ourselves already with all of the various charges and fees involed.
We viewed the property one week after it went on the market. The vendors originally refused our final offer and then changed their mind 7 weeks later. Can I ask them to pay for redoing the searches? I had no idea that they had such a short shelf life.

I find it crazy if you do have to pay for the same searches again 3 months later. Utter madness.0

Just had this email

Unfortunately the local search with the HIP will be over 4 months old at completion and, therefore, I will be carrying out a new search. As previously advised the cost of this is £70.40.0 -
Just shows what a waste of money these are doesnt it.0
