Changing my old meter . who?
My electric meter is as old as the hills and reader said that it was very difficult to read when first number is either a 9 or 0 (lots money fifference). He said it probably is out of calibrationa as my bills are high and it is 25+ years old.
So who do i contact to get it changed . He did say , it was either edf or eon. It is not my supplier anyway. Anyone know and what is the number would be great if you know it?

Hi Mandles, :hello:
Meter exchanges are carried out by the Meter Operators (MOPS) in your area of the country, the MOPS change in each area, for example the East of England is covered by EDF and the east midlands by E.ON.
Each meter has a life span guaranteed by its manufacturer, the MOPS have a record of when this will end and they will then arrange with you a time and date to do a statutory meter exchange, due to meter age.
The meter reader works for another company and is employed to read meters only, the level of expertise when talking about meter changing and the like should really be taken lightly.
You can contact your supplier regarding having the meter changed before the statutory meter change is due but the work would be classed as non-essential and there may be a charge.
Best to call your supplier and ask them about this, as there may not be a charge. :j
Hope this helps
