Oh dear, the shop should have used the same version of Windows and should have used your product key to activate it.
This requires a FREE phone call to Microsoft's activations line, a very simple process. You enter an installation number from your screen, the machine reads one back and you enter it to activate Windows.
It will only work however if the shop used the same version of Windows and I don't just mean XP or Vista, each have several sub versions.
Find out what the shop did, try the activation process.... If it falls, report the shop to trading standards (too many cowboys about in this industry).“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”
