Some Halifax branches will have an ATM deposit facility outside the branch.
Otherwise you could transfer money from elsewhere (Another bank) electronically.
Terms and conditions for the account are below, they might help with your query.

Thanks for the info. I'll have to arrange it with my other bank then.0

You can set it up and pay money in using online banking (and probably telephone banking as well if you have it). That way you can just transfer money in when you need it.0

I think I may have scuppered myself. I'm with Natwest which means a card reader for BACS transfers - any clever ways around this......
I may have found a way to move money into the account - it's a bit long winded and will take a few days.
If you happen to have a Cahoot savings account I believe there is a facility to withdraw money by just
imputting a name and bank account details as a one off payment - hope this is correct....0 -
If it is for a fixed amount each month or so then set up a standing order - that way you will need to use the card reader just once to set up the account.0

I take it there is no way round getting a card reader in the first place.....0

It is possible - though not with Halifax Easycash. Sign up to internet only savings account such as HiSave, Citibank Flex Saver etc. and as a condition of opening the account you will have to set up a direct debit (in your case from Natwest) which will allow you transfer money from NW to your internet only savings a/c using the savings a/c portal.
Btw - why are you so against using the card reader other that it being a damn pain in xxx0 -
Thanks very much for the info. I am against the card reader not only because it is a pain but in my case if there is the slightest chance of it being wonky then I know I will have that particular one and also because
I do not really wish to carry it around with me if I wanted to make an internet payment while I am away.0
