Hello, first post so hope this is OK.
I have a Sony cmd J700 (very old handset) on Vodafone and my son has a Motorola w377 on T-Mobile.
Any advice on getting these unlocked please?
I know some websites list models which have 'easy' unlock codes but my searches have not found these particular phones.

i found some software that claims to unlock a sony cmd j700, but it would all depend on how technical you are with things like that .. do you have a data cable for the phone ?
have you unlocked things before yourself?0 -
Don't have cable I'm afraid.
How about the Motorola w377?

Unlocking has become alot more difficult since the mobile networks joined forces. If it's locked it is locked for a reason. The IMEI code will not only be blocked by one mobile provider but now blocked by many. Most new phones blocked in the UK will be blocked by all providers.
The unlocking software is free but you need the 'dongle' which connects your phone to the PC. This you will have to find and pay for on eBay or somewhere........ even if you do this the UK providers will still block the IMEI code...
I think that's enough to convince you to stay within the law..... Changing the IMEI code of a phone is punishable by law and includes a prison sentence....
Yes it can be done.. but it's not legal.0 -
!!!!!! are you on about IMEI's for? Unlocking a phone for use on another network is nothing to do with IMEI numbers
Unlocking phones is perfectly legal
Changing an IMEI is not
If the phone has been reported lost/stolen then unlocking to use on another network will not work, however if you just want to both be on the same network with these handsets then that is fine and definitely NOT illegal
However the cost of doing this is probably worth more than the value of the phones so i'd personally just pick up a couple of already unlocked or locked to the correct network phones and use those instead0 -

Exactly right - if unlocking was illegal, why does every phone company offer an unlocking facility if you're at the end of your contract ?
As far as unlocking the motorola w377, i could only find paid solutions.
but then if you just google for the phone brand and then put "unlock" after that, then you could look around yourself.0
