hi
Wondering if anyone can help me?
We purchased a quicksilver watch for our son for xmas 2005 , he wore it for 3 weeks and the second hand fel off, cos we bought it in nov. we could not get money back.
Sent it in to be repaid by quicksilver, where we bought it at. Waited for 5 weeks had to call to see what was happening and ,and was told the repairs computers down, after a debate was told to come in and get a replavcement, 10 mins later they called and stated they had got in touch with repairers and it would be with me next day, watch came and about 5 days later we noticed it was going slow/ stopped , we assumed it was the battery.
I had to wait til pay day 2 weeks later to get new battery and was informed it was not the battery but the watch ( from different repairers)
So we get a watch back in worse condition than sent in (we think it may be different watch).
Took it in today ( watch has been in our possession for 5 weeks since xmas (lost receipt ) and was offered a 6 months credit note, but we never buy from here and it is expensive
2 things need help with
1 can they do this seeing as the watch is in worse condition than when i sent it in .
2. can i buy stuff with the credit note, get a receipt andf then go back for cash refund?
hoping someone can help

If you buy another item on a credit note, then unless its faulty they have no legal responsibility to give you a refund, they could refuse just to refund.I no longer work in Council Tax Recovery but instead work as a specialist Council Tax paralegal assisting landlords and Council Tax payers with council tax disputes and valuation tribunals. My views are my own reading of the law and you should always check with the local authority in question.0

no, as the new reciept will show it was bought with a credit note, so they'll refund the credit note if anything.

Tell them you are contacting Trading Standards are you feel they should either supply a working version of the watch you originally purchased or refund you. If they still refuse contact TS.
