I just got a phone contract a few months ago. I set up a direct debit for this contract which was due on the 8th of may.
Money was tight at the time, so I paid my phone bill a bit early on the tmobile website as I wanted to make sure that I wouldnt spend the money for it. I just got my bank statement and it shows that on the 11th of may i have both a direct debit payment and a returned direct debit receipt.
Then on the 20th of may the same thing again, a direct debit payment and a returned receipt. The activity for the 11th and 20th are for the same thing as all four payments/receipts are for the same value.
Anyway I have been charged £30 for each date! I dont get why im paying the bank £60 of my money
or why the direct debit came out on the 20th!
What should I do about this? I'm not very good on the phone as I get talked into agreeing and saying ok to things, so I thought I should get some advice

unfortunately any payments made to the phone bill would not have been registered with regards to the Direct Debit so it would have been presented as normal and then been returned similar to a cheque and therefore they represented it. Make sure you mobile phone provider has not charged you as well for a failed DD. Next time if you do that cancel the DD or it will happen again,0
