Calling in sick to attend an interview??!

Argh I am going out of my mind with worry about this.
I basically hate the job/company I work for right now so have been job hunting. I had one interview last week for a job i really really want and for that I said I had a doctors appointment as it was first thing in the morning.
I have been asked back for a second interview and the time is not flexible, 9am on Tuesday. The problem is I am supposed to be going to another office with a colleague on that day and getting an early train with the colleague. They will be pretty mad if I dont go, but I want this job SO much that I feel so sick and nervous about it.
What would you do? The thing is, I have the train tickets so if I go in on Monday and then give my colleague the tickets, it will look weird but I definitely can't leave on Monday night and take the tickets with me knowing full well I won't be going the next day..
Should I take Monday and Tues off ill so it looks real, or fane illness on the Monday evening and then be ill Tuesday.
ANY other day and I would have course taken it as holiday but theres no way it would get signed off because of this trip to another office.
I just dont know whats the best thing to do. I've had maybe 4 sick days in the last two years. Could they fire me for it??
PLEASE HELP!

speak to the company you're having the 2nd interview with, and explain the situation. If they've invited you for a 2nd interview they must like you, and maybe they can change the day.0

That was my first question, but because its with quite a senior person who travels alot they are being very strict on the date and time.
There are 3 of us going back and its an extremely copetitive job/industry to be in.
Argh why does this have to be so hard!0 -
I used a sickie to attend an interview, the building I was going to was right accross the street from my workplace, managed to pull it off.0

I guess I shouldn't care. The company I work for now is truly terrible and they have screwed me over pretty much. I guess I am being too paranoid and panicy about it.
I have to try and protect the job I have though because there have been redundancies recently etc..0 -
Go home early on the Monday feeling ill.0

If you're phoning in sick to attend interviews, it might backfire when it comes to references, They won't say 'Likes to take time off to go for interviews' they'll said 'He's sick a lot'.
Tell your boss you need time off to go for an interview (It's quite satisfying, a bit like saying 'this job sucks, you're losing me, what you gonna do about it') or perhaps do as mentioned by Dan_Essex above.

Yes, buy a freshly made prawn sandwich at lunchtime, by 2 you should be feeling green and will need to be on your way home.
Make sure it's prawn and mayonnaise.
(The mayonnaise will be made with dried egg but that's not the point.)I'm not cynical I'm realistic
