Sorry if I was not clear. I was being (a little) flippant about venting your spleen against the fake beggars. I think that you will find that the Dublin beggars are mostly Eastern European allowed in because of recent EU membership (with which I have no problem - as I am sat here in our house in France). I saw one guy in Cork a couple of years ago 'working' the bus stops giving out cards saying how poor he was etc. I saw him around town all day collecting 3-4 euros at each bus stop every 5 mins. Nice work if you can get it.
I'm afraid if you travel around Asia you do see real people in need/dying of hunger, who seldom beg and I get so annoyed with the overweight scroungers with their dogs, cans of strong beer and mobiles (much more expensive than mine). Sorry about the rant but I found and read Daily Mail on one of the Ryanair flights and it usually has this effect on me.

re the Guiness Storehouse tour - if you are still considering this, what time are you expecting to be there?

The queues can be quite long later in the day.

We got there about 10:15 and the queues weren't bad but as we came out, they were long.

Or if you book tickets for the Guiness Storehouse online you bypass the queue and pick them up from a machine instead.

...although I suppose if everyone does this then there could be a queue at the machine(s)! :p
  • Thanks for everybodys help, I think I will have to do the Guiness factory, just to say I have been and to warn everybody else not to go!

I will buy tickets online, so hopefully I will be able to skip the queue. Also the tip about the bus and MS will be very useful!
