Has anyone been contacted by Zavvi Administrators?

Hello, I'm a newbie so please play nice :p

I bought Zavvi gift cards for a couple of Xmas presents after 27 November 2008 so think I should be in line to get some or all of it back. Sent off the gift cards to the administrators in January but haven't heard a dickey bird back.

Has anyone been contacted or know of anyone who has?

I don't know if it's in hand and I'll hear in due course or if my claim envelope is under the carpet in a postman's van.

The most recent document on the zavvi website says the administrators have got 32,000 requests, but also says "we will shortly be writing to all known claimants to advise on the status of their claims". That document is dated 13 Feb.... 4 months just doesn't seem very "shortly" to me.

Cheers
Belle

Remember there is a huge que of people infront of you waiting to get money, I'd say giftcards are right at the bottom of the administrators priority list.
  • You won't be getting a penny.

The creditor meetingss etc have been heard and the documentation is on the website so have a read at it for outcomes and proposals

Not a hope I'm afraid, OP.

Cheers all, you're probably right but I think I'll chase the administrators for a response anyway ... if Zavvi is to be allowed to steal 40quid off me, someone could take a few minutes to write me a letter ;-)

I understand from the administrators that it is likely to be around 5p in the £1 back. So sadly on your £40 that is only £2.

I wouldn't even waste your time chasing.

I'm afraid it was quite obvious from the start that those with gift vouchers would be lucky to receive a penny back.

Registering with the administrators was just a formality to go through the notions.

This was why many people were dumping gift vouchers on the counter before Zavvi closed, and walking out with goods!
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)
